June 2000 Newsletter
Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine. When Jesus wraps this all up, it’s your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory. 1 Peter 1:7 (The Message)
Hi, welcome to the Metropolis on-line newsletter, your source of information concerning the buzz about the ministry. If you have any questions that are not answered in this web-site, please feel free to contact Dennis Bracy at metropolis5@juno.com. During the month of May, Metropolis ministered at 3 prisons in South Carolina, Broad River Correctional, Turbeville Correctional, and Allendale Correctional in Fairfax. We’ve taken “Song of the Warriors’ Living Video” all over this beautiful state. Many inmates have made the decision to let Jesus into their lives as a result of this program. Many christian inmates have also agreed to “take control of their land” and claim it for Jesus. This is a powerful, evangelical ministry and we are blessed to be able to present it to so many people who need God in their life. Metropolis will take the “show” to Woodhill Mall in Columbia, SC. This may be your only chance to see us in action, so please plan to join us Sunday, June 11, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. Woodhill Mall is located at 6000 Garners Ferry Road in Columbia, we will be in the mall, next to the Hallmark. This ministry/show includes lots of energetic music, creatively blended with dance, drama, martial arts, and of course, plenty of praise and worship. What an opportunity to worship with us and to bring along unsaved friends or family members! Please don’t miss it! Between ministry, worship practice, looking for a building, and other things, most of the Metropolis gang found time, to take “time-out” for a little camping and fellowship. We formed a car caravan, and 11 of us headed north to the beautiful Black Mountains to set-up camp at the base of Mt. Mitchell in North Carolina. The guys brought along their instruments and lead us in some campfire worship. There was plenty of fishing, hiking, singing, praying, and fellowship going on! The scenery was breathtaking, the waterfalls were awesome, and the weekend was well received by all. I look forward to including some photos from the trip very soon! Don’t forget to see us on Sunday, June 11 at Woodhill Mall, and while you’re here, go ahead and listen to the CD samples in this website! May you be blessed with the grace of God! Kim Barrickman
